Devonshire Place Dental Practice - progress and growth

The practice had its origins in the early 1880s when Joseph Miller practised at Bexhill and at 17 Harley Street. He was later joined at Harley Street in 1907 by Herbert Highton, who built a large practice there and introduced the Ritter x-ray system, the first of its type in the UK.

In 1931 the practice moved to 35 Devonshire Place, where a succession of dentists developed its specialist skills and growing prestige — enabling it to organise the 11th World Congress of the FDI (Fédération Dentaire Internationale) in London. The Federation based its offices at 35 Devonshire Place between 1952 and 1975.

In the last four decades the practice has grown in size and in modern specialist skills. Yet unlike many others in the West End, it remains a dedicated family practice.

In 2005 the practice was acquired by Dr Sonya Hamzehnejad-McCann DDS who studied at the prestigious Karolinska Institute Department of Dental Medicine, Stockholm, Sweden, and who now works as part of the team at 35 Devonshire Place.
